Robert’s background is relating to the legal side of estate planning. He has worked in all areas of a law firm – as a solicitor’s clerk, a trainee, a lawyer, a partner, senior partner and then founder-owner of a law firm. As such, he has experience of all aspects of undertaking legal-type work relating to estate planning. He has acted for families of wealth, those with businesses, people with very little in terms of assets, individuals with personal issues, acted as trustee and Deputy for vulnerable individuals. His background is a mixture of working-class and middle-class, he loves a variety of sports, is married with a young family and has a daughter in her twenties from a previous relationship as well as having elderly parents with care issues.
This background is nothing more and nothing less than the majority of people but it is stated here to truthfully reflect that Robert has ultimately experienced much of what is at the forefront of the minds of many clients and families when discussing matters of Estate Planning. Robert hopes he empathises and understands motives or reasons for anyone wishing to protect what they have built up for their chosen people to ultimately inherit.
There is much confidential and personal information (including financial information) taken as part of Estate Planning and Wills preparation. It can be information that is sensitive and personal, even for the most basic of circumstances. As relationship and trust is important and an ongoing one for our clients, it is important to have a first meeting with Robert. Our 1st meeting is usually without charge (ie is at our cost) so that we can establish with you what you wish to undertake and why.
Robert wishes to help you for the longer term rather than one transaction. It is important to understand you and your wishes and for you to understand the advice and options available for you – ie the solutions. Robert will spend 1-2 hours to gain the understanding of your personal, family, financial circumstances and requirements both now and in the future as well as likely events and matters on which you are likely to require professional help and assistance.
Robert lives with his wife Claire and his sons Nathan and Daniel in Buckinghamshire.
